Fluid Pudding announces the birth of Harper Rose on April 28th, 2005. A good day to be born! *wink*
A little overwhelmed today with puppies and naptime and school, but did find this at Karen’s blog

Because, my house is a mess! I need a fairy godmother to come either watch my baby and walk my dog or clean my house. Luckily my fair godmother did send me this cute package today.
( For furthur pictures from this photoshoot, click here) Still not able to get anything done, even with Pixie playing with the kids in the pebbles. Speaking of Pixie. Kasmira is TOTALLY fired.
And I’m trying to decide what to spend my birthday money on….Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince? which according to Zoot’s countdown is released in 78 days!!! I also need (in hardback, I’m saving these books for posterity after all!! or at least until the Moo finds them.) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix or Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets DVD
because a girl has got to have her quilting movies. I’m holding out for a few days to see if anyone got my heavily veiled “hints” and then I’m headed to Target to buy me some Harry Potter love!!!
As for now, Pixie and I will partake in some leftover Pixie cake (the moo turns up his nose at cake ~possible reason for genetic testing) and then The Man and I are headed out for beer and Beatles. The local Sherriff’s department fundraiser just happens to coincide with my birthday and the BEST BAND OF ALL TIME! (Yes I realize the broke up, something to do with death…but I’m excited anyway)
The Man and I met in highschool (how small town) but didn’t date till after college We have been together almost eight years (married five). In that time he has never ever, EVER remembered my birthday. I’m pretty easy going, but COME ON! Its my birthday…I need LOVE!
This year he did really good. For my birthday he bought me a backpack, a pellet rifle and SIMS houseparty. That was February 28th. Uh hmmm. He tried to cover his minor mistake by calling it an “I love you day”. and had me going, until he confessed that he was in fact two months early for my birthday.
Poor guy.
This morning (date of actual birth) we woke up with the 5am alarm (ran 3.5 this morning pushing that darn enourmous stroller!) and while I got ready to go, The Man got up and came back into the room with a card and a hanging basket of flowers.
He was the first one to wish me Happy Birthday, just like it should be. I’m sure do love that guy, after all he also came me this adorable gift….

Can you get any cuter than that???

No, we are not hung over from a Pixie Potter Party yesteday, although we indeed had cake. Yum! Devil’s Food cake with Funfetti frosting (my favorite!).
I wanted cake for breakfast but instead I ran 3.5 miles (hills, bleck) and then I went to the dentist. I hate the dentist, not the dentist (he is actually a friend of ours and they have a little guy three months younger than the Moo and we’ll probably be seeing them at little league and PTA for years to come~ you gotta love small towns) but no, the institution of dentists.
I was horribly traumatized by going to the dentist as a child.
I’m sure of it. If only I could remember. Hmmm.
No, really I have panic attacks, they have to strap me in to the chair…it’s not pretty. I only go because you know I have to show my face in town, and I do want some teeth in it. And not those black ones, those are so twelfth century.
So I went for a cleaning, only to find out I have a cavity under a filling…(see above statement of hatred for institution of denistry) so I have to go back in May.
In other news: not relating to my fear of the people with their hands in my mouth asking me questions. I had Stitch in Time quilting last night!! Yahoo! And several people brought their completed self portrait blocks. Aren’t they RAD?!

Of course now I’m nervous to complete mine, there are some AMAZING QUILTERS out there. And some of them even invite me over! Our project last night was beaded buttons. I wasn’t really into it, but several other quilters were. The picture on the right was a button our hostess had embellished, and the one on the left is the one I was working on. It was fun, and an easy project (of course I didn’t get very far!)
Today is Pixie Potter’s birthday. She’ll be twelve (oh my god twelve).
I want to wish her a Happy Birthday, hey I even plan on making a cake, after storytime, and during naptime, but I’m not sure I can say it any better than this post does.
Yes, it is true, I will be thirty on Thursday. But lets move past that quickly and on to more important things ….presents!
Yesterday the Mail Carrier brought me this bag from my Aunt and Uncle in New Jersey. It is perfect, weatherproof, zips shut, lots of pockets…and a baby changing pad! Did I mention waterproof. yeah it rains here a lot! Now I can stop trying to figure out logistics on a new bag and just use one! I’m so excited! Isn’t it pretty?
I almost didn’t get the bag, because the Mailcarrier (a lady yesterday) was sitting in my driveway and I figured it was the man who doesn’t do stairs, so I headed out to retrieve my package, before all the honking began. I’m not sure what the woman was doing but she was writing something ( a bad mail ticket?) and she said to me, “I have a package for you but I was afraid your dog would get off the porch , it is growling at me”. Well I assumed she meant the puppy, so I said “yeah sorry about that we just got her this weekend and she is excitable”. I didn’t mention that she was A WEIRDO for thinking that either dog was going to take the one story plunge to the ground off the porch to get to her sweet rear. (now having been bit in the rear by a rottweiler last October while running I’m not making light of her fear, just her silliness) . She said ” no that big black one (Jonah) is growling at me and I thought he might bite”. I had no response to this comment because 1) I have never heard Jonah growl (in the two years we have had him) 2) I have never heard him bark 3) I have never seen him show any interest in anything doggie (poop, dead animals, starting stuff with other male dogs) besides the ball. It is all about the ball.
So I was standing there Mr. Moo on one hip, waiting politely for my mail and thinking, I have no response to that because frankly I was just dumbfounded that Jonah would growl at her and I didn’t want to risk Jon’s wrath by being a bad dog owner…but I didn’t believe her!
Maybe I’ll just go back to getting my mail at the Po Box….it seems like a lot less effort for me. I’m a recluse! Hello!
Of course it is possible that Jonah who will be three on Friday, didn’t want a baby sister for his birthday. And he is just grumpy. Do ya think?
Well on a day where much of the RBF are recovering from Marathons, Halfs, Trailrunning and Volkswalking (Athena), I ran 3.5 pushing a stroller in a downpour and felt like I had run a marathon. My rear hurts……I’m telling you, Mr. Moo has to go on a diet! He is heavy.
In other baby news, this little girl is sooo well behaved, she slept allnight in her crate with not a peep. And is sleeping again! Mr. Moo LOVES her. Jonah is not sure, yet, but he is pretty easy going. The only annoying thing is when she starts her puppy barking, Mr. Moo chimes in, and he is fascinated with her crate.
More news from “Corner of Smalltown USA” and it is everyone is happy that the puppy has left the area. So it seems like she really was dropped off out there (people suck) we are still a little concerned that maybe we someone will call us and want her back though.
Kitties Fric and Frac seem to be on vacation this morning….I wonder if yesterday’s puppy barks were too much for them?
In the meantime, we have the a growing name pool. What are you thoughts?

Much Madness was had by all this weekend, Mr. Moo was mad that it took four hours to get to Keith and Talia’s house. He was overjoyed though that they had a Jonah (dog) and a “tch” as well!
After a yummy pasta dinner on Friday night we set it to the serious business of visiting with Aunt Ren and Talia, while The Man networked with Keith.
Saturday found us eating yummy egg quiche thing that Talia made with peppers and spinach, and grazing on leftover chocolate cake, brownies, gummi bears, and some delicious bundt cinnamon roll thingee…who cares what it was called it was scrumptious..and gone in about twenty minutes. It is sooo important to stay well nourished while quilting, which is a relaxing activity…you want to stay at the top of your game, and lots of food helps!!
Speaking of helps, Mr. Moo is in love with the “tch” quilt and wanted to touch it ….alot.
He was somewhat distracted with the gosling that Talia brought home from her job at the hatchery on Friday night, (already imprinted on humans) and found it particularly entertaining when the little one, nibbled on his finger. In this picture, he and Keith discuss the particulars in teaching a baby goose to play fetch.
It turns out that it takes me approximately 4hours to quilt one “octopus” design. So I finished one at quilting, along with several of the nine-patch blocks which are alternately circles and squares. and one on the drive home. Happily I have sixteen hours of class this week/weekend so I’ll be cruising on this baby. And the buddy loves it! He pulled it out of my suitcase this morning repeating “tch! tch! tch!”.
We spent today ripping up the carpet in my sewing room (across the way from the baby room) I’m sure The Man will post about that on his blog soon. So now we can seriously consider sanding.
And since we really have nothing else going on in our lives, today we adopted this cute face.

We found her out near our old rental, this morning when we were visiting a friend. She apparently has been around a few weeks and no one seems to know where she came from. A little history on that small part of the world. Almost everyone who lives there is either a) related b) knows everyone else or c) has lived there over thirty years (some fifty). And in the three years we rented ( a small round house in someone’s driveway) we learned that the residents of our city “Smalltown Usa” seem to think this portion of the world “Corner of Smalltown USA” is far enough out in the country that you can deposit unwanted animals. We brought many kittens (little little kittens) into the Humane Society in our time at that rental. So it seems that this little “annoying brown dog” was deposited out there, and has been living off of everyone’s dog food. Because everyone in Corner of Smalltown Usa has at least one dog.
We brought her home and took her immediately to our neighbor (she knows everything about dogs) and she said this pup is about three months old not a pure lab (probably why she got ditched in Corner of Smalltown Usa and possibly part pitbull.
I finally understand why at 13 weeks Zoot can not bring herself to title a Pregnancy category, she is so worried that will jinx the baby. I am having a hard time naming this cutie because I’m afraid someone is going to call us and say, oh yeah, that’s our dog. In the meantime The Man wants to call her “stay out of the road’ but I’m thinking no.
She is full of energy and is darn cute….any thoughts on names?
Mr. Moo’s room is scraped clean, and awaiting the sander. We’re thinking we will go ahead and rip out the carpet in my still under construction sewing room (really we haven’t done anything in months) and then sand the entire upper floor. This could be a sinus nightmare, so we are contemplating when the best time to do this would be.
The Man is thinking, probably while Mr. Moo and I are in Philadelphia. But that is two months away. So we’ll see what happens.
Off to pack the car full of baby supplies (bassinet, baby tub, boppy, baby chair, for the soon to make an entrance baby Mad Quilter) for Mad Quilters. We leave tonight (its a four hour drive) to make sure we can get as much quilting in as possible tomorrow…and eating (*grin*).
The Octopi quilt is packed and ready for some serious quilting.
You may be seeing an under construction sign up on this site now and again, I’m trying to teach myself how to manipulate wordpress……It seems so easy, but I just can’t get it. I have managed to make everything disappear, now if I could only get them to appear in the right place. Bear with me.
…now about breakfast….
