Have you ever left the house only to realize you’ve tucked your shirt into your GI-NOURMOUS maternity underwear? In the front.
Just me?
Huh.

My kitchen, much like my house used to be an organized place. Not to be confused with a clean place…but never the less organized. Things had their place. Even if their place was a rubber tub marked misc.
These days. Not so. Living in a constant state of construction and with an 18 mth old. We have given up on the living room. It is now a sea of toys, blankies and Baby Einstein DVD cases.
My Tupperware drawer in particular used to being neatly stacked with …Tupperware. The lids. Contained.
Today amidst the Tupperware strewn wily-nily in the drawer (and through out the house) I found a cow. A magnetic cow. And the letter O.
For organization I assume.
Apparently today is Tuesday.
Not Monday as I had originally thought.
Which means I missed a meeting already today but also means I’m a lot closer to Friday!
Woohoo!!
We spent the weekend at the Oregon Coast, beautiful in any weather! I love the Ocean. And thanks to Baby Einstein…the moo enjoyed saying ‘ocean, ocean’. He did not enjoy the actual ocean as much as he enjoyed looking at it from the Dunes. The closer he got the tighter he clung and the minute his chubby feet hit the sand he was headed back up towards the house.
Returned home to find the dogs missing, again. They keep finding their way out under the fence. Woke up this morning. Gone. Again. They are fired. I’ve spent more time chasing them around the neighborhood since we built the fence than ever.
*sigh* Doggie patrol Tuesday here we go….
Yeah, I’m bitter. I entered three quilts in this little town fair and came home with two reds and a blue. Now if I had entered these my hand quilted quilts in our local quilt guild’s show I would not have won a darn thing so why am I so disappointed?
Frankly because I’m proudest of the two quilts that received the red ribbons, and frankly the competition was abysmal. Next to my Mariners compass was a quilt that was blocks and was quilted using a hem stitch (on machine) around the borders!! Hello!
Next to my beloved Fish Quilt was another quilt, blocks, that was machine quilted with loose meandering drunk lines. (no not stippling) I mean there I’m not a machine quilting snob…I just don’t like to machine quilt. But I have seen some beautiful machine quilting. And this was not it. It was such a slap in the face to have entered to hand quilted pieces in a little fair and have them do so poorly in comparison to these other quilts.
Yes, I’m going to hell for being a snob.
The only explanation for my abysmal showing a this little fair is a cryptic message on the back of my Fish Quilt that said “watch your corners”. I have no idea what that means.
Ironically my Celtic Blues quilt received a blue. I find this funny because I think the quilting is mediocre I didn’t really measure well on the border and if you look closely at the center design. It’s not centered. I mean I love this quilt but it is not the blue ribbon winner of the bunch.
Now I have to clear my snobby name, because generally I got to quilt shows and stand in awe of the quilts (most of them machine quilted) and know that my work does not compare. It’s not like I have a big head. I’m just bitter. Bitter chic.
Look what Pixie made us at camp!! Moo loves it…”durdle durdle!!” he says. Of course he loves the buttons too. There are a lot of buttons for him to love!
It is nice to have something crafty posted again, even if it’s not mine. In fact I think the last two craft posts have been Pixie’s…hmm.
Well I’m not feeling super this morning and we’re headed to the fair…ugh. Wish me luck. Maybe I’ll take a pail just in case.
In other news….the errant dogs returned. My father in law found them at the bottom of the road at lunch time.
Naughty.

Not like that ! You gutter heads! The end of my paper is in sight and that means there is guilt free quilting on the horizon. QUILTING. I remember when I used to quilt…..it was nice!
Whoever it was that asked for the turkey tracks pattern…I’m sorry. My sewing room is packed in the basement, I’ve been in school, my house is in chaos…and I think the dog ate it.
But I will triumph! I will find that pattern and pass it along….it shall be done!
Peace.
Weighing in at 29lbs and 4 oz (we think, he was hanging from my neck so it was difficult to gage actual weight) and standing at 34 3/4 inches with a head circumference of 50.5cm. I give you…..a very sad Moo.
Apparently he didn’t forget his shots from last time, as he started crying the minute he saw Nurse Cathy come to get us, and was difficult to disengage from my neck.
Dr. Jim had to check his heart and lungs while I sat on the table with the buddy and then I lay down so he could look in his little mouth, which was open…
After the two shots we went to Jodi’s office for awhile to check out the fish on the computer and then…maybe make some calls.
