I started a new category today. The Rain category. I like to keep you all informed! I live in the Pacific Northwest. It rains a lot here. It rains many different ways, Hard rain, soft rain, drizzle, sun breaks, spitting rain….you get the picture.
You know how the Eskimos have two hundred words for snow? It’s like that here. Only wetter, and not as cold.
As you may have suspected. It rained today. The perfect kind of rain. The relief rain. As in, what a relief, I didn’t water the plants last night, or the night before that…or even this week. And now I don’t have to.
After weeks of uncommonly Hot! weather in the Northwest we have a day of reprieve. I love the rain. Not a lot of people do, and I can certainly weary of it. But I love the smell of wet dirt, trees, grass. (Not wet dog particularly, but we have that too).
Rainy days are slower around here. I did some sewing today. Moo and I did some baking, while his brother napped. Wah and I did some gardening (Yes! in the rain. We’re tough here) while Moo napped. We watched movies and partook of our baked goods.
It was un interesting. And lovely.

I’m a rain lover too, and totally understand “relief rain”. Calgary is usually sunny and dry. When rain comes, I welcome it, mostly because it feels so much nicer than snow
Oh, and it smells so good.
Glad to see that you like the rain too, especially seeing as you get to experience it so much.
Do you know the song “Bring On The Rain”, sung by Jo Dee Messina and Tim McGraw? It’s one of my favourites.
What a lovely, lovely day! But, baking and gardening with little helpers sounds pretty interesting to me.
Your day sounds pretty perfect to me. Love your little applique flower.
I love rain and I love your new category. I know what you mean about Relief Rain. I could use some that myself.
