I get three hours in a row too work on quilts, bills, blogs, whatever. Once a week the Neighbor Girl comes down the hill to take the wheel and entertain the boys. For a few buck I get three hours.

Three hours of uninterrupted (for the most part) kid free (almost) time. It’s a perfect blend of doing what I want while not feeling guilty about abandoning my children or duct taping them to their chairs in front of the TV. (not that I have ever ever done that because that would be wrong)

It’s a time that is just for me (pretty much, with an occasional “Go to time out.” or “you need to listen!”) and it is amazing how centering those three hours uninterrupted (mostly) can be.

It’s also amazing how many Oreo cookies you can eat when you are alone in your room….
