This week I committed us to Bloomsday 2008.
That is 8 hours of driving (at least- with two kids) 7.5 miles of running, three nights in TurboMarz’s goodwill and spare room, one birthday party and a partridge in a pear tree. (and speaking of birds, have I mentioned how much I love the new Vera Bradley, yellow bird pattern? Yes. Oh kay. And no, I have not spend all the minutes between my last post and this post searching the internet for nearby Vera Bradley stores nor have I been scouring eBay looking for great deals on a Vera Bradley Yellow Bird Apron or pajamas. IT’S NOT TRUE!! WHO TOLD YOU THAT!!!)
*cough*
Wednesday Scott and I went out for a quick run pushing the boys, what with the family arriving Thursday we weren’t sure how the running would go so we decided to get a few miles under are belts, sadly we both felt like poop with hacking coughs and sore throats so we only did a 1.5 miler.
Sunday: Today we still felt like piles of poo but dragged ourselves down to the lake anyway. Lady J and Speedy ran by (they started early, having things to do that day) and when Legolas showed up we dragged our bottoms from the car and did not walk to Starbucks but in fact actually ran *ahem* most of the lake. After all we are in training..and we decided to drive to Starbucks later so it totally worked out.
We also decided we would go all go on a diet.* Legolas, her husband, My husband and Me. So we should be a super fun group for the next few weeks. Stay Tuned.**
*Scott and I will be officially starting this diet on Wednesday. We assume all the birthday cake will be gone by that time…
**Do you ever feel like these Rundowns are somewhat lacking in the actually “Running”…part?
