It’s that time of year where I drag out all the, ahem, bags of unfinished Shop Hop quilts from years past in an event to stave off the need to drive willy nilly throughout Washington state in search of small pieces of fabric to sew together.

The 2008 Western Washington Shop Hop starts this week. And the fabric! It sings to me.

Each year I go, because, Quilt stores! Swearing to myself and those around me that this will be the year! The year I finish one of the quilts.

So far the only shop hop quilt I’ve ever finished?

Last year I took the boys and at each store Moo received a small square (he obviously wasn’t awake for all of them) and I made this little nine patch for him. I thought it was very clever of
them. And he was so pleased to pick something out.

My only excuse for going this year (other than an addictive nature) is the search for the elusive snail fabric.
