I’m sure the craft room purging is symbolic in someway, but figuring it out may hurt my brain so I’ll just keep plowing through the goodies and redistributing them. Piling my mending on my table in defiance of the thousand and one un cut projects flitting through my brain (already crowded with candy canes and peppermints). No. Must pick up one of those pair of pants to hem.
Naturally setting these types of goals is pointless as I find a way to circumvent myself. Tonight I found myself picking up the hand quilting project I’ve been working on for about six months, I had set it aside in my cleaning frenzy and to make way for Christmas Projects, but tonight I craved a quiet, familiar project. I picked this quilt up again while I caught up on watching The Office.
This is one of three quilts that I am currently working on. (You must stop laughing now). I only take on three quilts for other people at a time. One I’m working on as a trade for the boys’ horseback riding lessons, one is Juls, and one is this Aqua flower one.
It was started in the 80’s by a woman who is a long arm quilter now. We have a little trade going ourselves. Her end of the bargain is done, mine is dragging on. I never know though if I’m dragging out quilting projects because I like the rhythm of familiar patterns and stitches or if I really am just terribly slow.
This post is really about that heart shaped piece of plastic though. I love the quilting pattern on it. But even more so I love the tracer, the way that pattern is cut into the heart makes it really stable to work with and it is just so clever. I get so excited when I have another row to trace.
It really is the little things isn’t it?

I can’t imagine what it would be like to finish things and be organized, all we can do is dream and enjoy the little things.
It’s beautiful.
