This week marks my Fifth! year of blogging. Crazy! Two years ago I decided to declare this week, guest post week at Running Stitch and I loved it so I’m doing it again. Here are a few of the bloggers that make blogging so special for me. Today’s post is by MamaSarah. Most days she can be found posting at Just For The Fun of It! Enjoy -brit
Hi there! Well, I am totally honored to be guest posting here today! Let me say that I really don’t know how I first came across Brit’s wonderful blog all about quilting, being a super mom of super boys, a runner and living in what seems to be a “little cabin in the woods”. I’m totally jealous of her mad handy work and LOVE the turtles and owls (not to mention the road quilts).
So, in honor of her 5 year anniversary I was hoping to post that I finished several of my own unfinished works that I worked so hard on this past week while on “vacation”. Alas, stupid sewing machine let me down and I have never attempted to do hand quilting like my grandmothers and their mothers before me (the one’s my mother swears I got my quilting skill from as she NEVER even attempted to do it, she just cross stitches and knits). Now, I’m just left with piles of more material to yet be sewn together and quilts ready to be quilted.
And an even bigger dilemma is what is wrong with my machine. It’s only 2 years old and a wonderful gift by my dear hubby since he saw I was loving quilting and my 1900’s something cast iron Singer just wasn’t “fancy” enough (aka not enough stitches according to him).
So, other than my other hobby of quilting, I’m a big food fan, or should I say fan of food and all that goes with it from start (ingredients) to finish (scraping the bowl/plate). Now, anyone who has read (or will read, hint!) my blog or knows me in person, knows I’m a mom of a 3yr old allergic to egg, dairy and peanut. Not to mention a mom of a 16m old who hasn’t “popped” positive for food allergies, but reacts to said mentioned foods. Oh, and did I mention that I too am dealing with the same said food allergies, but not “popped” positive too? (for some reason hubby seems to be the only winner in this house when it comes to food) This has totally hindered my huge passion for cooking (seriously for hours on end), I mean HOW can one cook without BUTTER?!?! However, the light at the end of the tunnel is there because now I’m on a mission to figure out ways to make the food we love (and crave) using allergy friendly substitutions so my family can eat safely and not live on hotdogs and rice chex the rest of their our lives. You can find my latest trial here. Mmmmm good!
So, that’s my post and I’m stitching sticking to it.
Happy 5th Blogging Anniversary my dear blogger friend! I hope one day to meet you in person or at least attempt a round robin with you!
Ta ta!

oh no! maybe I jinxed you with the fact that this is like a UFO station, and we won’t talk about how many unworking sewing machines I have, because it is so much cheaper to pick up one at a garage sale then to get one fixed ! It is not a good habit…
