Or rather thread. Either way, I took a break from some of the larger quilts on my plate right now, to make something quick and fun and you know suitable to our new Utah lives. Meet Frosty and Fred. Or is it Fred and Frosty, I get them confused.
After almost two months here, at least 8 weeks of snow, it is safe to say we are not bored with it yet, I mean it is so beautiful, see how it sparkles? It’s dimples so merry? It’s everywhere. It’s melting a little round the edges, the trails are clearer than they have been. We’re hoping the predicted snow for Thursday will remedy that. The thing about the snow is that here they plow, often. So the roads are clear pretty quickly when it starts to snow.
At the Burrow, we knew there was no snow left in town when they got to plowing our road. Not so here, the only time I have been nervous about driving was one time when we were at the library and it started to snow. We were headed home before the plows had been deployed, and it was a little slick. Crazy how fast that can happen here, when the daily high is 18 degrees. I have to be honest, we are enjoying ourselves. I feel a little guilty at times. Like I should be more homesick. I miss my friends. And that part I knew was coming. But the sun and the snow? It’s nice. I’ll check back in March and see if we are still so smitten. But I have to tell you, I think I will be.

Snowmen. They are the new slugs.
I love this post so much. As we discovered earlier this year, your family and mine have basically switched places (Colorado rather than Utah, but very close). You have exactly summed up how smitten we are with the novelty of misty days and moderate temps. I do not miss the snow plows and freezing air yet, though family and friends are dearly missed. Enjoy our snow, we are basking in the green green moss and gray gray days for you.
